Survey question types

2 min read

Choose among every question type currently supported by ELUNIA.

Rating / scale

The guest chooses one numeric value between the configured Scale minimum and Scale maximum (0–10 is allowed; the default is 1–5). Staff can choose numbers, stars, letters, colors or labels and optional low/high labels. The numeric answer is stored. It contributes as NPS, CSAT, CES or a general rating only when staff explicitly select a compatible Metric.

NPS

The guest chooses an integer from 0 to 10. Its scale and number display are fixed, and the numeric answer is stored. This type always carries the NPS metric; it cannot be repurposed as CSAT, CES or general rating.

Single choice

The guest chooses one option and ELUNIA stores its stable option value. Staff must provide at least two unique non-empty options, one per line. Options are not KPI metrics automatically.

Multiple choice

The guest chooses several options and ELUNIA stores the selected values as structured data. Staff provide at least two unique options and can set minimum and maximum selections. The maximum cannot exceed the option count or be below the minimum.

Yes / No

The guest chooses Yes or No and ELUNIA stores a boolean value. It has no option list and is not automatically a KPI metric.

Short text and Long text

The guest enters free text. Short text stores up to 500 characters; Long text stores up to 5,000. Neither requires options or becomes a numeric metric from its wording.

Matrix / grid

The guest answers rows against a fixed five-column scale: poor, fair, good, very good and excellent. Staff enter row labels one per line; up to ten rows are retained. The structured answers are stored as JSON. Matrix is not automatically a KPI metric.

Rules shared by every type

Every type can be marked Required. Required means the public submission validator expects an answer appropriate to that type. Descriptions remain optional. Changing a type or its settings affects future submissions; completed answers retain their question snapshots.
