Use the Survey Builder
3 min read
Configure questions, translations, sending, Thank You content, preview and Survey status.
Understand the control page
From the left sidebar, select Surveys, then select Edit on its journey card. The Survey builder header identifies the Survey and Property. The setup navigator links the current stages: Overview, Questions, Languages, Sending, Thank You Page and Preview. Completion indicators summarize readiness; they do not replace checking each stage.
The Overview area shows status, counts, average rating/NPS when data exists, recent Responses, and Survey details. Use the Edit survey button for identity, Property, description, status and default selection.
Build and order questions
In Questions, existing cards show their type, wording, required state and semantic metric configuration. Each edit form uses the Type, Question, Required, and type-specific controls. Select Save after changing a question.
Use the Move question up and Move question down buttons to exchange adjacent positions. Use Duplicate to create a new question copy. Use Delete only when allowed: a question with historical answers cannot be deleted. Select the Add question button to add a question at the end.
Rating and NPS questions expose Metric, Measurement category and Scoring direction. A Rating also exposes Scale minimum, Scale maximum, Display style, and optional end labels. NPS is fixed to 0–10. The metric badge reflects explicit configuration; ELUNIA does not infer a KPI from question wording.
Work through all six sections
- Overview: check identity, property, status and recent responses. Editing details changes future guest content; it does not rewrite completed responses.
- Questions: add or edit wording and answer choices, save each change, then order the questions. Required means the guest must answer; it does not itself define a metric. See Question types and Question rules.
- Languages: use the required language cards to resolve exact missing custom fields with AI or inline manual editing. Keep optional/historical translations separate. This opens the survey workspace, not setup Step 5.
- Sending: review required communication languages even if no separate Guest Message row has been saved for a free canonical translation. Expand saved messages to inspect/edit persisted originals and translations. Review each linked rule's timing, reminders, effective language and active state. Viewing this section changes none of them.
- Thank You Page: choose standard, segmented or completion-title-only presentation, edit source text and branding, then save. Segmented content requires its NPS setup and applicable outcome text. Public review destinations are property settings; they are not positive-score gates. See Thank You experience.
- Preview: choose a guest language and inspect published/maintained content, including Thank You. A fallback warning is not readiness. Preview does not publish or activate. Use the explicit activation action only when ready and permitted; setup selection still requires its own explicit survey acceptance.
From the journey-card Surveys list, Edit opens this builder directly and Preview opens a modal. After any guest-visible customization, revisit Languages and the affected Step 4 review before Go live. Other unchanged surveys keep their acceptance.
